Greenspring Valley Residence

Project Description

Step into the Greenspring Valley Residence and you will be immediately struck by the stunning juxtaposition of contemporary design with a natural, wooded setting. The project was commissioned by a family seeking to update their kitchen and add a family dining room, all while bringing a sense of the surrounding nature into their home.

The existing house was a sprawling, yet unremarkable, example of developer housing. However, the lush, wooded lot upon which it sat presented an opportunity to create a more symbiotic relationship between the home and its environment. Our solution was to install a spectacular folding glass wall, which opens up the kitchen and dining area to the natural beauty outside. This connection was further enhanced with the addition of an outdoor covered patio and fireplace, as well as a large wood deck.

The project brings the family closer to nature, encouraging outdoor dining and lounging during good weather, and providing a continuous connection to their forested lot in any season. The new design creates a seamless flow between the interior and exterior of the home, enabling the family to enjoy both equally. The use of natural materials in the construction and design of the outdoor spaces further enhances this feeling of oneness with nature.

The updated kitchen and family dining room create an expansive, light-filled space that is perfect for gathering and entertaining. Modern finishes and appliances provide a sleek and functional counterpoint to the natural surroundings. The innovative design, which seamlessly blends the indoor and outdoor spaces, creates an environment where the family can truly connect with their natural surroundings.
