The Tractor Building Redevelopment

Project Description

In the historic Clipper Mill complex, a brick masonry mill building dating back to 1916 represents the last un-redeveloped mill building in the area. The proposed mixed-use apartment project is a vision of modernity set within the existing masonry envelope.

The building features five residential stories, which rise above the masonry in two glassy pavilions, creating a unique, contemporary aesthetic. The center of the building is set back, forming a generous courtyard that provides a welcoming amenity for residents and visitors alike. The brick masonry wall and new steel structure work in harmony, acting as a proscenium for this new urban stage in the vibrant Clipper Mill neighborhood.

The Tractor Building redevelopment is a testament to Baltimore’s rich industrial heritage, and a symbol of its commitment to renewal and revitalization. With its innovative design, the building represents a bright and exciting future for the Clipper Mill community, and a new chapter in the area’s long and proud history.
